What Support Can I Expect When Purchasing a baby lock Machine?

Why buying a baby lock machine you are investing in a heritage of Innovation – Founded by inventor Koichi Sakuma, Baby Lock introduced the first household overlocker in 1968. The brand remains at the forefront of sewing technology.

Through the Baby Lock Academy you can access:

  • Sewing Projects - Here you will find various step-by-step sewing instructions to download free of charge.
  • Sewing Tutorials & Inspiration– Tutorials and instructions for sewing projects provide inspiration and describe the realisation with baby lock machines for sewing step by step
  • Sewing Courses - Gain confidence using your machine through hands-on instruction at the baby lock Academy  (Held at Sywell Aerodrome, Northamptonshire, fees apply)  In a relaxed setting, from beginners to advanced users, you’ll explore overlock or cover stitch techniques, stitch variations and accessories. 

At The Sewing Studio, we’re also here to support you after your purchase. If you run into any issues or have questions, our team is just a phone call or email away. We’ve also created our own troubleshooting guides to help you solve common problems quickly and confidently.

Warranty information

All new Baby Lock machines are covered by a manufacturer’s warranty protecting against manufacturing faults and defects. This applies when the machine is used and maintained according to the instructions in the supplied manual.

⚠️ Important: Please keep the original packaging in case the machine needs to be returned for repair.

Key Warranty Details:

  • Standard warranty: 2 years (parts & labour)
  • Domestic use only - commercial/teaching use: 1 year
  • Educational discount machines: No warranty

🛠 The Sewing Studio is an authorised Janome service centre. We carry out warranty repairs in-house, so if anything goes wrong, our expert technicians can take care of it for you.

Can the Warranty Be Extended?

Yes. select Baby Lock machines are eligible for an additional 2-year extension when registered within three months of purchase.

Eligible models for extended warranty:

  • Gloria
  • Ovation
  • Aspire
  • Acclaim
  • Enlighten
  • Victory
  • Enspire
  • Euphoria
  • Cover Stitch, 
  • Primo

Important:

  • Extended warranty available in the UK only.
  • Registration after three months from purchase date will not qualify for the extension.


What’s Not Covered?

The warranty does not cover:

  • Accidental damage or general wear and tear
  • Timing issues
  • Consumables and minor parts such as:
    • Needle threaders, needles, bobbins, bobbin cases, needle plates
    • Light bulbs, blades, belts, presser feet, embroidery frames, and tools


How Do I Register My Machine?

You can also register your machine online on Baby Lock's Website

To activate the extended warranty:

  • Complete the Baby Lock questionnaire within three months of purchase.
  • Provide your machine details as required during registration.
